reimagined moda center

A Major Step Forward
Thank you to Governor Kotek, Senate President Wagner, Senator Lieber, Senator Frederick, Senator Starr, Majority Leader Bowman, Representative Nosse, Representative Sanchez, and the bipartisan group of senators and representatives who supported Oregon’s Arena: Moda Center!
SB 1501 has officially passed the Oregon State Legislature. The bill reinvests the revenue generated by Moda Center back into the arena, preserving Moda Center as a community asset and economic driver for years to come. The bill is part of a state and local financial package to fund needed Moda Center renovations that would be completed by 2030. The bill does not increase taxes or create new taxes.
Moda Center, a publicly-owned community asset that generates $670 million in regional economic activity and sees 1.6 million visitors a year, is the oldest NBA arena that hasn’t had a major renovation.
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to renovate Moda Center and catalyze economic growth in the heart of a vibrant Lower Albina neighborhood. Working with City and County leaders, the Blazers are ready to get started on the next chapter for the franchise.
