reimagined moda center

Our Commitment

Confetti falling in the Moda Center

Powering possibility

The Trail Blazers are more than just a basketball team; they are a source of regional pride and an integral part of our community. Since 2009, the Trail Blazers and the Trail Blazers Foundation have donated more than $19 million to nonprofit organizations in communities across the region. Players and staff also supported their community with over 1,300 volunteer hours across 40+ nonprofit organizations last year.

Building stronger, together.

Partnering with the Albina Vision Trust, the Trail Blazers are working to support community-led restorative development in the Albina neighborhood – a partnership united by a fundamental belief that business and community can work together to solve our city’s biggest problems. A Moda Center renovation can be a centerpiece of those efforts to revitalize the neighborhood as the residential and cultural heart of Portland.

Cleaner spaces.Smarter choices.

Our commitment extends beyond the community to help improve our environment. Moda Center is the first existing NBA arena to achieve LEED Platinum certification.

First-in-the-nation reusable cup program, eliminating 500,000 single-use cups in its first year.

100% wind-powered through the Chopin Wind Farm in Umatilla County.

Food compost program diverts as much as 2000 pounds of food waste from landfills per event.

Setting a new standard

Moda Center’s renovation presents a unique opportunity to go even further, establishing Portland as a global leader in sustainability with a new standard for environmental investments in venues.
